Adults with Intellectual Disabilities
We create inclusive opportunities that empower adults with intellectual disabilities to build confidence, form meaningful connections, and participate actively in the community through sports and shared experiences.
Building Confidence and Inclusion Through Team ABC
Antica Community Development & Services supports Team ABC (Autism Badminton Club), an inclusive badminton programme that brings together adults with intellectual disabilities, caregivers, and volunteers through regular sporting activities.
Through weekly badminton sessions and opportunities to participate in community and competitive sporting events, participants develop their confidence, teamwork, communication, and social connections in a supportive environment.
Beyond the sport itself, Team ABC creates opportunities for volunteers and participants to build genuine friendships, fostering greater understanding and inclusion within the wider community. The programme also provides caregivers with a trusted support network and meaningful respite while their family members take part in the sessions.
Through inclusive sports and community participation, Antica is committed to creating more opportunities for adults with intellectual disabilities to be included, connected, and empowered as active members of the community.
