SINGAPORE – 17 September 2025 – Antica Foundation has partnered Crest Secondary School to provide internship opportunities to students. This internship programme aims to equip youth with hands-on, industry-relevant experiences that prepare them for meaningful careers in Singapore’s digital economy.

Antica’s Commitment to Future Generations

Antica Foundation plays a pivotal role in enabling and sponsoring these internships. By working closely with industry partners to secure placement opportunities and providing interns with monthly stipends, Antica Foundation ensures that youth are supported as they take their first steps into the workplace. While Antica Foundation traditionally focused its social impact programmes on seniors and ex-offenders, it is now expanding its reach to include youth as a key beneficiary group.

“At Antica Foundation, we believe education must go beyond the classroom. By enabling these internships, we want to give these youth the confidence, skills, and opportunities to shape their own future in Singapore’s growing digital economy,” said Dixon Lim, Executive Director of Antica Foundation.

Crest Secondary as a Key Partner

Crest Secondary School’s practice-based curriculum makes it an ideal partner for Antica Foundation’s youth initiatives. “With Antica Foundation’s support and the generosity of our industry partners, our youth are able to step into real workplaces, gain digital skills, and see for themselves what their future pathways can be,” said Mr. Benjamin Kwok, Principal of Crest Secondary School.

Industry Partners Making a Difference

This year, 15 youth benefitted from internships across four companies that generously opened their doors, allowing them to gain exposure to real workplace environments — from digital retail platforms to smart home solutions — cultivating both technical proficiency and professional confidence.

One of the partner companies was Ready Digital (RDI) Pte Ltd, a local Smart Internet-of-Things (IoT) company specialising in residential monitoring and notification solutions for seniors living independently. “At RDI, we see this as more than an internship. It’s about giving these youth the opportunity to experience first-hand how digital data is shaping the world,” said Gladwyn Teo, Chief Operating Officer at RDI. “We are inspired by their eagerness to learn and believe that, with support from Antica Foundation and Crest Secondary, these youth will one day be valuable contributors to Singapore’s digital economy.” Other partner companies included Tuya Inc., Onsmart Living Pte Ltd, and Smart Living Gallery Pte Ltd.

One intern, Sam (not his real name) shared: “This internship has taught me things I could never learn from books or online. I’m grateful to Antica Foundation, my teachers, and my mentor at RDI for believing in me and giving me the chance to learn and grow.

At Onsmart Living, the value of fresh perspectives stood out. “When we first met the interns, what struck us was their curiosity and willingness to learn. At Onsmart Living, we believe innovation starts with new perspectives, and the interns bring that energy into our workplace,” said Cavan Loo, General Manager of Onsmart Living. “This partnership, enabled by Antica Foundation, is not only about teaching skills but also about building confidence and nurturing a growth mindset.” Derrick Loo, Head of Business Growth at Smart Living Gallery also shared, “I was impressed by the students’ creativity, adaptability, and eagerness to learn. Their fresh ideas brought real value to our projects, and I believe the experience has prepared them well for their future careers.”

Extending Impact to the Community

The collaboration also extended beyond industry. These interns volunteered at Antica Foundation’s inaugural National Day and SG60 celebrations at Lucky Haven Senior Activity Centre on 8 August 2025, interacting with seniors and assisting with festivities.

In return, Crest Secondary welcomed Antica’s senior beneficiaries to its campus, where current students from its Culinary and Restaurant Operations course prepared and served meals at their student-run Crest Bistro — bringing learning, service, and community together.

A Shared Vision for the Future

This collaboration between Crest Secondary School, Antica Foundation, and their network of partners are demonstrating how education, industry, and community can come together to transform futures. By investing in digital skills today, they are nurturing tomorrow’s workforce by equipping them with competencies, compassion, and a spirit of service.
